Do you ever feel alone? Like you are trying to do something, Create something, or realize a dream… but don’t quite have what you need and feel stuck.
I know that feeling well. On my journey, I have discovered the power of connection. We are not meant to do it alone…. in fact, we are meant to work together to use our gifts, talents and resources to help each other.
In the past I would pride myself on being able to do so much and to be in control of it all. I had to know what was happening and how it was going to happen. I couldn’t delegate because I had to make sure it was all done just right.
It’s definitely a journey and I’m still growing… I’ve been able to let go of perfect laundry folding and dishwasher loading. Now I just stand in gratitude that someone did it and I didn’t have to. Even better, that my children are learning skills they need for life and learning how to make mistakes, think about problems, find solutions and act to create order in their lives. It’s a beautiful thing.
For example… tonight, I was working on some photo edits and video creation… I really need to get it done and had procrastinated dinner making. My daughter and exchange student started doing dishes… without me asking!! They set the table and I made quesadillas. When I turned around, the table was set and food ready and covered to stay warm. I got some veggies and we were ready to eat. It makes a mama’s heart proud to see how responsible her children are becoming.
And thus we see… letting go of control and connecting with your children can bring great blessings to everyone.
What about your business? I remember for years not wanting to tell people how I did things, where I ordered prints or share my “secrets.” What a silly belief that was. I’m so glad I realized that this world is not about competition, but collaboration.
“Thee lift me and I’ll lift thee and we’ll ascend together”
If you want to succeed joyfully, help others to get what they want. This new paradigm that I now exist in has been a HUGE blessing in my life.
I have connections with people all over the world… many are also mentors, speakers, photographers – just like me. But you see… no one else IS ME! I do things my way and the things I’m inspired to create are meant for certain people. They need to help others. There are BILLIONS of people in this world. We can all help, serve and lift. There are plenty of people who need us.
